Diamonds in the Rough is New Zealand’s first multi day women’s MTB camps! Based in Rotorua for 3 days, this all inclusive women’s only MTB camp is a chance to ride with and learn from the raddest female riders around the country. We stay together at Diamonds HQ and have delicious ‘best meal ever’ food prepared for us by our own chef! Each weekend is limited to 12 women…keeping it small for the best learning and most fun possible.
This is a weekend where you will be become a better rider and meet amazing women from around New Zealand. It’s the people that make Diamonds so special. The women that come together to share their love of riding. We’re all about supporting the stoke!
Days will be filled with skills sessions, group rides, shuttles, and the most amazing food!
Cost: $850 includes
2 nights twin share accommodation at the Southstar House

1 full day and 2 half days MTB skills courses and personal instruction

Day 1 – 2pm Arrive in Rotorua
Get settled, group ride in the Redwoods in Rotorua then dinner!
During this first ride we will get to know each other, go over the basics and sort out groups for the rest of the weekend’s riding.
Small group skills courses (6 max in each group). After lunch will head to the back of the forest for shuttles! The day will finish off with gourmet dinner at the bach!
Focus on maneuvers (think wheel lifts, manuals and wheelies), followed by a group ride and a skills session on jumps and drops. After lunch we’ll depart Rotorua at 2pm.
What we’ll be covering
For this multi day camp, we’ll be splitting into 2 groups at each camp based on ability and experience (indicated on your registration form). We’ll be covering a large range of mountain bike skills through out the weekends including: body position, cornering, braking efficiency, pressure control (pumping), steeps, roots, small drops and jumps.
Beginners- Intermediates-Strong Intermediate Camp 4-6 November 2017
This camp is great for women who are starting out mountain biking or have been riding for a couple of years but maybe lack a bit of fitness. You should be comfortable riding 2+ hours on grade 2/3 trails to really enjoy this camp.
Intermediate-Strong Intermediate-Advanced 10-12 November 2017
This camp is great for ladies that have been riding for a few years, feel confident on grade 3 trails but have been stuck at the same level for a while. You should be comfortable riding 3 hours+ on grade 3+ trails to really enjoy this camp.
Both camps camp are open to riders 18 years or older.
